Love it!

My horse is always at his best when he's on Joint impact. He's been on it since he was four (is now 11) and hasn't had any joint problems. He was off of it for about 3 months for reasons and didn't move quite as freely by the end of that time, so we had to go back to it!

Ingredients

Ingredients & Scientific Studies

Glucosamine Sulfate (7500 mg) – Maintains healthy cartilage and joint function. In a study, 10 horses were followed to assess the efficacy of oral glucosamine sulfate and oral chondroitin sulfate and the necessity of joint injections along with supplementation. During the 6 years of supplementation, the overall number and frequency of joint injections dropped dramatically. Horses that had required 2 to 3 distal intertarsal joint injections per year to maintain performance prior to the oral therapy were able to perform well with one injection or less per year while taking oral Glucosamine Sulfate and Chondroitin Sulfate supplementation. (Study: Martha R. Rodgers, VMD (2006) Effects of Oral Glucosamine and Chondroitin Sulfates Supplementation on Frequency of Intra-articular Therapy of the Horse Tarsus. Intern J Appl Res Vet Med. Vol. 4, No. 2, 2006.)

Glucosamine HCL (7500 mg) – In a double blind investigation of twenty veteran horses, the range of joint motion increased significantly in the elbow, stifle and hind fetlock when supplemented with Glucosamine Hydrochloride (GHCL) combined with Chondroitin Sulphate. Stride length also increased significantly. (Study: Forsyth RK1, Brigden CV, Northrop AJ (2006) Double blind investigation of the effects of oral supplementation of combined glucosamine hydrochloride (GHCL) and chondroitin sulphate (CS) on stride characteristics of veteran horses. Equine Vet J Suppl. 2006 Aug;(36):622-5.)

Chondroitin Sulfate (1800 mg) – Equine in vitro studies have suggested that the combination of glucosamine and chondroitin sulphate can result in reduced cartilage degradation and may have anti‐inflammatory effects. (Study: Orth, M.W. , Peters, T.L. and Hawkins, J.N. (2002) Inhibition of articular cartilage degradation by glucosamine‐HCl and chondroitin sulphate. Equine Vet. J. 34, Suppl 34, 224‐229.)

Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) (7500 mg) – This natural anti‐inflammatory agent that has been found to decrease joint pain and swelling in human subjects with osteoarthritis and to significantly ameliorate exercise‐related oxidative and inflammatory blood changes in jumping horses. (Study: Marañón, G. , Muñoz‐Escassi, B. , Manley, W. , García, C. , Cayado, P. , Sánchez de la Muela, M. , Olábarri, B. , León, R. and Vara, E. (2008) The effect of methylsulphonyl methane supplementation on biomarkers of oxidative stress in sport horses following jumping exercise. Acta Vet. Scand. 50, 45.)

Magnesium (2400 mg) – In a human study, dietary magnesium intake was found to reduce knee osteoarthritis and joint space narrowing. (Study: Zeng, C., Li, H., Wei, J., Yang, T., Deng, Z. H., Yang, Y., Zhang, Y., Yang, T. B., & Lei, G. H. (2015). Association between Dietary Magnesium Intake and Radiographic Knee Osteoarthritis. PloS one, 10(5), e0127666.)

Vitamin C (2370 mg) – Human and animal studies have shown Vitamin C to be a safe and effective adjunctive therapy for specific pain relief. (Discussion: Carr, A. C., & McCall, C. (2017). The role of vitamin C in the treatment of pain: new insights. Journal of translational medicine, 15(1), 77.)

PP1 (16.5 g) (A proprietary complex of DLPA, L-Leucine), Silica and BWI (3 g) (A proprietary complex of bioactive whey isolate) – Work together to increase comfort levels without the harmful side effects of other pain blockers.
