Elena Flaharty

Dressage

Elena Flaharty manages Rise Above Equestrian and is a USDF Gold, Silver, Bronze Medalist with 30 years of horse experience ranging from riding and showing Grand Prix dressage to mid-level eventing, including over 20 years of Pony Club instruction and teaching. She employs classical training methods coupled with a positive and encouraging teaching style make for a successful experience. She values horsemanship and care as much as correct and classical training of each horse.​

 

Elena has trained and shown Training level to Grand Prix in dressage, and competed through Preliminary Level eventing with experience on various types of horses. Her experience includes 20 plus years of teaching and training multiple disciplines at low to upper levels of dressage and low to mid levels of eventing. Awards include 1998 USEA Jr. Training Rider of the Year, 1998 Area VI Jr. Training Level Horse & Rider of the Year, 1999 USDF Bronze Medal recipient, 2008 USEA Adult Amateur Rider of the Year, 2008 Area VI Adult Amateur Training Level Rider and Horse of the Year, 2016 USDF Silver Medal Recipient, and 2017 USDF Gold Medal Recipient.
